EPDM & PVC Pond Liners

EPDM and PVC pond liners

A flexible liner lets you build a pond in any shape, from a small wildlife pond to a large koi pond. We stock fish-safe EPDM and PVC liners for DIY and professional projects.

EPDM vs PVC

  • EPDM (rubber): highly flexible, stretches over uneven ground and handles temperature changes well. Generally longer lasting, and the preferred choice for larger and permanent ponds.
  • PVC: lighter and more budget-friendly. A good fit for smaller ponds and simple shapes.

Both should be UV-stabilised and safe for fish and plants.

How much liner do I need?

As a general guide:

  • Length = pond length + (2 × maximum depth) + overlap
  • Width = pond width + (2 × maximum depth) + overlap

Allow around 30 cm overlap on each side to anchor the edges. Use our pond liner calculator to check your figures.

Installation tips

Clear the hole of rocks and roots, lay underlay, then fill slowly with the liner in place so it settles into shape. Fold excess liner neatly rather than cutting it until the pond is full. Seal joins with pond sealants and keep a repair kit on hand.
