Pressure Filters

Pond pressure filters

A pressure filter is a sealed canister that keeps water under pressure as it passes through the media. Because the outflow is still pressurised, you can hide the filter in a garden bed, or bury it to the lid, and still pump water up to a waterfall or stream.

Benefits of a pressure filter

  • Discreet install: place it at or below ground level.
  • Built-in UVC: most models include a UV-C clarifier to clear green water.
  • Easy cleaning: many have a backwash or cleaning function so you don't need to open the canister.

Ranges we stock

  • PondMAX PF UV series: pressure filters with integrated UV-C, rated from 2,500 to 30,000 litre ponds.
  • PondMAX Automatic Pressure Filter with UV Clarifier: semi-automatic cleaning for larger ponds.
  • OASE FiltoClear and BioPress: pressure filtration with UVC for garden and fish ponds.

Sizing tip

Manufacturers often quote one capacity for ponds without fish and a lower one for fish ponds. Size by the fish pond rating if you keep koi or goldfish. Match the filter's maximum flow with your filter pump, and keep replacement foams and UV bulbs on hand.
