Aeration Kits

Air stones, airline and check valves

The air stone or diffuser is where your air pump's work turns into oxygen in the water. Over time, stones clog with mineral deposits and biofilm, reducing bubble output and putting strain on the pump.

What you'll find here

  • Air stones and diffusers: including Aqua One ceramic and cylinder air stones and the PondMAX Airstone.
  • Airline tubing: to connect your pump to diffusers.
  • Check valves: such as the Aqua One airline check valve, which stop water siphoning back into the pump during a power outage.

Fine or coarse bubbles?

Fine bubbles have more surface area and transfer oxygen more efficiently. Coarse bubbles circulate water more strongly. Many ponds use a mix.

When to replace

If bubbles become weak or uneven, or the stone looks discoloured, it is time to replace it. Matching air pumps and complete aeration kits are also available.
